The Australian Stockman’s
Hall of Fame Refurbishment
The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, a collaboration with Brian Hooper Architect, was designed long before contemporary Museums became reliant on interactive technology. Filled with static displays at the time we were commissioned, a large part of our role was to integrate new services runs, co-ordinate new technologies and new exhibits, without making the workings visible.
The radiating pattern of the original architect’s vaulted structures, his diagonal paths exploring spatial variety, and the sunset colour palette of his exteriors, all guide this revitalisation of The Stockman’s Hall of Fame.
Through the careful process of peeling back decades of accretions and enclosure, this project restores the original architect’s vision of connected volumes with natural light.

Architecture AU
Brian Hooper Architect and M3 Architecture approached these relatively modest renovation projects with a great deal of admiration and respect for Bouman and, in this regard, they are an exemplar for the reworking of late postmodern buildings within the typology of contemporary heritage architecture.
